The publishing landscape
The mobile transformation of tech and society is shaping the way modern readers search for information and make purchases. Readers have “moved”: they don’t just visit physical libraries anymore, they also use digital tools to find information and buy online, having books delivered to their doors or just downloading a digital copy to read on their devices.
It is therefore getting harder and harder for the Publisher that still operates traditionally to appeal to readers and make a lasting impression that leads to purchases and loyalization.
Thanks to this Augmented Reality application, completely customizable, the Publisher can have a suited solution that’s technologically advanced, able to perfectly encase the traditional nature of the publishing sector and the need for change and innovation of the readers.
How does it work?
To enjoy the Augmented Reality content tied to a publication the readers simply have to download the app from the web store, point the camera of their mobile devices towards the picture (marker) on the catalogue, book, magazine or newspaper, in order to have access to a wide range of Augmented Reality content (like videos, extra info, etc.) to interact with.
Some of the features this app presents are:
The CMS (Content Management System) is the tool Pikkart offers the client to manage Augmented Reality content autonomously.
The CMS is organized on different levels (series, brand, product, etc.) and holds all the content used by the app (markers, information sheets, 3D objects and videos that are shown in augmented reality, etc.).
The CMS is very simple to use as its interface is clean and intuitive, and it’s accessible from both desktop and mobile, in order to manage it comfortably at any time of the day, in any place.
