Pikkart and Cariplo Factory, Augmented Reality at #SIOS17

On Monday, December 18, in Milan has taken place the second edition of StartupItalia! Open Summit,  the biggest Italian event dedicated to startups.

Among the event’s promoters there’s also Cariplo Factory, the collaboration hub created by Fondazione Cariplo in order to promote open innovation projects, implement corporate social responsibility and support young talent.

Cariplo Factory’s headquarters are located on the first floor of the ex-Ansaldo factory, building that now hosts the start-up incubator BASE, and starting from next April it will expand by opening a new area on the third floor, now undergoing renovations.

And this is where Pikkart and Augmented Reality come into play.

We have built Cariplo Factory AR, an Augmented Reality App available for both Android and iOS that will allow the summit’s attendees to explore the construction site from the Cariplo Factory booth: after downloading the Augmented Reality app from the App Store or Google Play, the users just had to point their mobile device towards a dedicated board in order to have access, through an AR door, to a 360° virtual tour of the hub in the making.
